GBSG celebrates “gems” who have clocked up 140 years between them

Dave Simpson, Neil Jackson, Jason Wright and Stephen Wright

Spalding based GBSG, which is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year, has recognised four of its longest serving staff members. Between them, Dave Simpson (Intruder and Fire Director), Neil Jackson (MD), Jason Wright, (Technical Manager) and Stephen Wright (Chairman) have clocked up a combined 138 years working in the security industry at GBSG.

When they started out, alarm systems were wired and monitoring involved modems and cables. Things have moved on a long way since then but they have always been ahead of the curve.

“We opened the monitoring station in 1994 as we saw the change that remotely monitored CCTV could have. I think we were the first in the county to provide this and it was a complex thing to set up,” Stephen Wright.

The company is widely recognised as being knowledgeable and highly technical, providing complex systems for business throughout the country. Neil Jackson was instrumental in working with the British Security Industry Association (BSIA), helping to create the British Standard for CCTV monitoring – BS8418. Although he is Managing Director, he still loves to roll his sleeves up and design complicated systems using all the latest technology which also includes Artificial intelligence these days.

A growth area in recent years is the solar farm market and the company is a leading supplier of security and monitoring systems to this sector.

Dave is the fire systems expert and is well known among local businesses for helping companies adhere to the latest fire legislation ensuring they are fulfiling their health and safety obligations.

When it comes to implementing and building the systems, Jason is the main man. He makes a massive contribution to GBSG. Like the others, he is an absolute gem!
